Production notesThe news of Alain Resnais' death only two days after we had produced the cinematic series Retour à Marienbad came as a very sad surprise. Originally, the series was intended to capture and recreate the flavor of one of the famous French directors' masterpieces - and now it stands kind of as an obituary to Resnais, whose film L'Année dernière à Marienbad defined the Nouvelle Vague cinema in the 1960s.
