Modern Fairies - 2014
Production notesFragility, fate and trust are the key elements of this contemporary series, produced at various locations and on various media.
The central subject of each picture is a (young) woman in a somehow unexpected pose: sleeping, or resting with eyes closed. A pose that conveys a certain aura of vulnerability and of safety at the same time. As such, Modern Fairies deals with a voluntary loss of control, as a person cannot control his or her surroundings, while he or she isn't aware of what's going on, and cannot react, if necessary. The calmness in these pictures also contains an element of uncertainty: we want to know why the woman fell asleep in exactly that situation. Scene 1: Jana Brucha at Bürgerpark Pankow.
